Penny Cropper has always had an affinity with makeup. Her love of the fashion and beauty industries saw her training at the sought after Joyce Blok School of Beauty Therapy (now Elite) upon leaving school; and soon after graduating, obtaining her dream job as Beauty Editor of MORE magazine.
It was during this time that Penny did her photographic makeup training. As well as formally attending classes, Penny was very fortunate to work with a number of sought after national and international makeup artists which she believes was an invaluable way to gain experience. She became the in-house makeup artist for the magazine and worked on a wide range of fashion and beauty shoots.
After leaving MORE (now SHE), Penny lived in France for five years and after returning to NZ, worked in Shopping Centre Management. During this time Penny continued to work with makeup privately, particularly for family weddings and special occasions.
It was six years ago upon moving to the Hawke’s Bay that Penny decided to work with makeup on a full time basis. She has quickly established a reputation for herself in the industry as a meticulous makeup artist with real attention to detail. Her clients wants and needs are important to her and she does everything in her power to create the specific look they are after.
